CHILDRENS MENTAL HEALTH TFCBT LEARNING COLLABORATIVE

What is Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT)?

TF-CBT is a conjoint child and parent psychotherapy approach for children and adolescents who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events.

It is a components-based treatment model that incorporates trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral, family, and humanistic principles and techniques.

Children and parents learn new skills to help process thoughts and feelings related to traumatic life events; manage and resolve distressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related traumatic life events; and enhance safety, growth, parenting skills, and family communication.

We have a new TF-CBT training learning collaborative starting up. See below for more information.

Applications: The application process is now open. You may either complete the application via our online registration link: http://bit.ly/MoCo2021App . A PDF of the application is also attached here so that you are able to preview the questions prior to submitting your information. As this is a Learning Collaborative, only those who assemble a team/training group will be considered for a spot in the training. “You would not believe the impact that the TF-CBT training has had on myself, on my clients, and the families that I work with. It has been life changing. I can’t even remember how I did more work before TF-CBT. I was recently at a CAC team meeting and I told them about TF-CBT and they were amazed by it. I can’t praise you guys [MoACTS] enough. It has been personally and professionally life changing. I have helped these kids so much better. And when I have questions I check in with my consultant, and the suggestions they gave me helped me work through the problem I was doing parts of this model before, but I didn’t know what it actually was, and this put things all together for me. I am so grateful.”
